Extra Notes: Bitcoin, Ivermectin, Boghossian Resigns, & Australia's Descent into 1984
News from the past week sees advances in crypto and themes of what people are willing to do to destroy or dedicate themselves to truth
This past week left us with some interesting stories, starting with El Salvador adopting Bitcoin as it's national legal tender. Along with that, Rolling Stone published an Ivermectin article so false, the hospital they "reported on" had to make a statement to refute the lies. Peter Boghossian has finally had enough working for the woke at Portland State University, and put in his resignation. Lastly, Australia is testing new applications that blatantly invade your privacy. Links and show notes included below.

It’s been interesting to see the threads lined throughout each of these last three stories. They’re all couched in what people are willing to do in order to pursue or destroy the quest for knowledge and truth. Rolling Stone doesn’t care what the facts are, they just want you to hate Joe Rogan and despise the people who adopt any Covid-19 medical treatments outside vaccination. The masses were not inclined to go along with this sort of strong-handed “reporting”. It’s good to see that the population is not only capable of sniffing a fart when it’s flatulated, but they’ll condemn the smell all together. That Rolling Stone article did stink. Peter Boghossian resigned from Portland State University after a decade of mistreatment from staff, students, and the administration. He’s put up with woke-ism on campus for long enough, put up with far more than they ever put up with him. As if talking about differing ideas on a college campus should ever be a crime. In reading his resignation letter, they sure treated him as a criminal. An intellectual pariah in a place built to toy with theories. In all honesty, he’ll probably be more successful in his educational and intellectual pursuits through a podcast or other similar platform, now that he doesn’t have to report to the PSU administration. Finally, Australia is descending further into the grips of Orwell’s 1984. The application they are currently testing is quite invasive when it comes to your privacy—but hey, it’s all for your safety, right? The way this is being forced in isn’t quite what it seems. I’ve already written about the application, and my reasons to be weary. Links to the information I gathered on this topic can be found in the column I wrote.
